Kuromori Kagura

Experience traditional Japanese folk music and dance which originated in Iwate Prefecture, one of the many places in Northern Japan that was hit hard by the disastrous earthquake and tsunami last year. Kuromori Kagura is the display of showing appreciation to the Shinto gods, and can be dated back to the 17th century. 

This is a New York-based group that will be touring in three other cities around the East coast. 

The first shows will be this weekend:

Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7:30pm
   performance is followed by a MetLife Meet-the-Artists Reception.
*Sunday, Oct. 28 at 11:00am
  (*this is a special program for familes and children)
Sunday, Oct. 28 at 5:30pm

Philadelphia Museum of Art (Philadelphia, PA), Friday, November 2
Towson Univeristy (Towson,MD), Saturday, November 3
