Our twenty-eighth Annual Dinner was hosted at Regions Field on September 07, 2017.
We welcomed guest speaker Peter Kelley, President of the National Association of Japan-America Societies, to discuss the role of JASA in grassroots relationship between Japan and Alabama communities, the network of Japan America Societies nationally, and the current state of affairs in U.S.-Japan relations.

Congratulations to our 2017 Samuel Ullman Award Winner, Mark Jackson! Mark was named Alabama’s Honorary Consul General of Japan in 2014. Working in this capacity, he has been very effective in promoting programs and furthering relationships with Japanese individuals, companies and cities. He has been very active in his relationship with the Japanese Consulate, and his leadership with Japanese Sister Cities is both exceptional and unparalleled. We are thankful to have his support as JASA grows!
